The Route of all Evil

I can’t tell you how many times I hear the following sentence “yeah, I went to another gym. It was cool, but… it just wasn’t that fun.” Climbers in the gym always visit other gyms and never really understand what’s missing. Things always seem a little “off” or “funky” or “weird.” And here’s what’s missing:

SETTING!

The reason Planet Rock is one of the best gyms in the country is not because of our tall walls, it’s because of our great setters and our great teachers. We have two of the most experienced route setters in the country and they are happy to show a beginner all the tips, tricks, and shortcuts needed to become an awesome route setter. We have passionate people excited about setting routes, and a whole staff ready to help when it comes to reading or setting anything for our customers.

If you ever have a request for something you’d like to see up in the gym, give us a head’s up! No promises, but we’ll try to make it happen. Because our routes can only be as good as the climbers who climb on them, and vice versa maybe?
